We are all very  grateful to local author David Bailey for inspiring our pupils to write.  David donated a copy of his book "The Unusual Zoo" to us.  The book really resonated with our children given it's message of inclusion and everyone being  comfortable in their own skin.   Our children loved the combined characters and the adventures that they had.

We held a competition in school with all  children having a go at designing their own character for "The Unusual Zoo."  We had some lovely creations such as the  Duck-billed Rattypus and the Bunny Crabbit! 

Emma's Hendragon was chosen as our overall winner. Emma used her wonderful imagination to think of adventures for her  Hendragon which David crafted into a new story.  A professional illustrator brought Emma's creation to life. 

An enormous thank you to David for giving us this opportunity and well done to Emma - we are all extremely proud!
